Antiques that have been stored in dark--damp areas may have a musty or mildew odor. To minimize the musty odor, the following tips may help:
- Remove the drawers and set the furniture outside for a few days to air out.
- Spray furniture with lemon-scented furniture polish or orange oil.
- Line drawers with newspaper and sprinkle paper with baking soda.
BONUS TIP
More rubbing and less polish, is believed to bring out the shine on antique furniture.
